Shrove Tuesday - A Celebration of Community

As Pancake Day approaches, we at St. Matthew's Weekday School are excited to announce the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner set to occur on the 4th of March at the Church. The WDS community is invited to take part in this wonderful tradition; one that promises to be a delightful blend of faith, fellowship, and fun.

At the heart of our Shrove Tuesday event is the pancake dinner—a colorful banquet featuring pancakes served with an array of mouth-watering toppings. Families will have different options to choose from, including sweet syrups, fresh fruits, luscious whipped cream, and hearty breakfast sides like sausages and bacon. As a community, we come together, enjoying the cozy comfort of a shared meal while strengthening our bonds and connections.

The afternoon will also host an array of engaging activities for the whole family. Children will get the chance to let their creativity shine while crafting Mardi Gras masks and decorations. Plus, a dedicated storytime or short presentation about the significance of Shrove Tuesday guarantees to enlighten as well as entertain.

Fostering a sense of community is central to every activity we bring to the table. This spirit of communal gathering is deeply ingrained in our values and the enrichment of both our school and wider communities. Through the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, we aim to further our connections and reinforce the supportive, welcoming environment we always strive to offer at WDS.

As one of our core tenets asserts, "Families are at the heart of what we do," and this event serves to tangibly manifest this idea, promoting interaction and building enduring relationships between families, our dedicated staff, and fellow church members.
