March is here, and that means it's time for Read Across America at St. Matthew’s Weekday School! This month-long event is dedicated to fostering a love of reading in our students. Reading is a fundamental part of a child's development, sparking creativity, enhancing language skills, and opening doors to new worlds of knowledge. Through this event, we aim to highlight the joy and importance of books while strengthening bonds within our community.
Why Reading Matters: Studies show that children who are read to regularly develop stronger literacy skills and a deeper appreciation for storytelling. By engaging with books, children build critical thinking skills, expand their vocabulary, and develop empathy as they immerse themselves in different characters' perspectives.
Community Engagement: We are inviting parents, grandparents, and community members to participate as guest readers, sharing their favorite stories with our students.
